Why Start Small? | Stitch 04 of 14
THE FIRST 14 STITCHES™ • STITCH 04/14

You don’t have to heal everything today. One small step can start something that changes everything.
Why Start Small?
Big change can feel impossible when we think it has to happen all at once. We look at everything that hurts, everything that needs fixing, everything we wish were different—and the distance between here and there can make us afraid to move at all.
But healing rarely begins with a giant leap. It begins with one small, faith-filled step.
One prayer. One honest conversation. One boundary. One phone call. One page written. One decision to try again. One stitch.
The smallest stitch of courage, faith, or obedience can be the beginning of your breakthrough.
TODAY’S STITCH
Start where you are. Just take one small step. Trust God with the rest. Progress, not perfection. Then keep stitching.
Small does not mean insignificant. A single stitch looks tiny by itself, but stitch after stitch can hold an entire quilt together. The same is true of healing. The step you take today does not have to finish the story. It only has to move you forward.
TRUST GOD WITH THE NEXT STEP
Sometimes we wait because we want the whole plan before we begin. Faith asks something different: take the step God has put in front of you and trust Him with what you cannot see yet.
“Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.” — Psalm 37:5 KJV

WHAT ARE WE COUNTING UP TO?
Every day, another piece is revealed—another purpose, another part of the story. The First 14 Stitches™ are counting UP to the Patchwork Angels™ Android Beta Launch on 9.11.2026.
And even that begins small: one tester, one honest piece of feedback, one improvement, one person helped. One stitch can become part of something much bigger than itself.
LISTEN: ONE STITCH
This song carries the heartbeat of The First 14 Stitches™: you do not have to put your whole life back together today. Sometimes healing begins with one prayer, one truth, one breath, one next step—one stitch.
WILL YOU BE A FOUNDING PATCHWORK ANGEL?
You do not need technical experience. You need an Android phone, a little time, and the willingness to use Patchwork Angels™ honestly and tell us what works, what does not, and what could help the next person.
Android Beta begins 9/11/2026 • Founding Angel enrollment: September 11–18
One stitch may seem small. But that’s how patchwork begins.

What changes when you stop asking, “How do I fix all of this?” and ask, “What is the next faithful step I can take today?” Sometimes the smaller question is the one that finally gets us moving.
Why do we tend to dismiss small progress when we would never expect a wound to heal all at once? Maybe part of healing is learning to respect the tiny steps instead of only celebrating dramatic breakthroughs.
What is one small step that looked insignificant when you took it but ended up changing more than you expected? Those are usually the stories that make “start small” feel real.
