Why Give It Away?
Patchwork Angels™ began with a question. It was not, “What can we charge?” It was, “What can we give?”
There are moments when somebody may reach for prayer, Scripture, encouragement, a journal, crisis information, or a practical resource while money is already one more source of fear. We do not want a price standing between somebody and their first stitch.
Hope should remain within reach.
Free Does Not Mean Worthless
Free does not mean the app costs nothing to build. It means a decision was made about what kind of offering this first version is meant to be. The value is not reduced because the price is zero.
Some of the most important things we receive in life were given to us: time, patience, truth, prayer, wisdom, mercy, a second chance, a resource at the right moment. Sometimes what helped keep us standing becomes something we can place into somebody else’s hands.
Giving Forward
This is bigger than an app. The mission is to heal adults to protect children, end silence around harm, connect people with useful resources, and make one next step easier to find.
“Freely ye have received, freely give.” — Matthew 10:8 KJV

I love that this asks us to give according to what is in our hearts—not out of guilt, pressure, or performance. God sees the person who gives quietly too. What if we stopped comparing our contribution to everybody else’s and simply asked, “Lord, what have You placed in my hands today?”
This is a beautiful challenge: What has God given me that could help someone else? Maybe it is experience. Maybe it is compassion. Maybe it is time. Maybe it is creativity. Maybe it is simply a heart willing to sit with someone in their hard moment. We do not have to save the whole world today—but we can refuse to walk past the person God places in front of us.
Giving does not have to be dramatic to matter. A person who listens without judgment can be a gift. A person who shares a hotline, a resource, or a word of encouragement can be a gift. A person who says, “I believe you,” can be a gift. Small acts of care can change the direction of a whole day.
I needed the line about truth creating choices. Truth may not make every decision easy, but it can open the door to a prayer, a boundary, a report, counseling, a safety plan, or one honest conversation. What choice might become possible when we stop pretending that something harmful is okay?
